Simone de Beauvoir got it right when she famously wrote that a woman is not born as one, but rather she is socially constructed by the shared values and norms of a society.

But, what values and norms shape the woman of the xxi century? How much has the feminism freed us from the burden of fulfilling the social expectations? In our female bodies, are we really free to roam the world?

As a feminist, sociologist-to-be, on-and-off writer and peripatetic soul, I struggle every day to find answers to these questions.

Hence, this humble, intimate blog aims at sharing the thoughts and experiences of a human being who is trying to figure out the world around her, and her role in it.
